Gerald the Welshman (Giraldus Cambrensis) was a mediaeval ecclesiast. Of noble birth, with mixed Saxon-Welsh-Norman ancestry, he described himself as "a Welshman", and was employed by the Archbishop of Canterbury on various ecclesiastical missions in Wales.
